ARCHIVE DISCOVERY: LONDON, 1996.

We found 47 minutes of uncut footage from 1996 London. What it contains will surprise you.

The tape arrived unmarked. No label, no date, no indication of where it had been or who had shot it. We digitised it out of curiosity. What we found inside stopped everyone in the room.

This is what the archive is for. This is why we preserve everything. Because what seems insignificant in one decade becomes essential in another. Because the images that slip through the official record are often the truest ones.

The footage is now classified under VB_00025. It will form part of a forthcoming archive exhibition.
